Your widget should represent your restaurant. Learn about the 4 ways you can customize your widget and display what you want, how you want it.
1. Change the text in the reservation note ❔
In the widget check-out page, there is a placeholder text in the reservation note. By default, this is set to display the following text: 'Do you have important dietary requirements, allergies, or other remarks?'
If you have specific things to ask, or want to change this for any other reason you can do so via Settings > Widgets > Reservation note. 💡 This customization option is only available in Standard and up.
2. Change the text to gather newsletter subscribers 💌
In the widget check-out page, there is a placeholder text to ask guests to subscribe to your newsletter. By default, this is set to display the following text: 'Don't miss out on the latest events, promotions, and offers from '.
If you can and want to be more specific about what guests can expect from your newsletter, you can adjust this text Settings > Widgets > Newsletter subscription. 💡 This customization option is only available in Standard and up.
3. Change the 'FULL' text for fully booked timeslots 🖋️
If a timeslot is fully booked for online reservations, it might be that you always have some spots left for walk-ins or guests who call to make a reservation. If you don't communicate this, you'll probably miss out on having a full house.
Change the text that is displayed next to a fully booked timeslot from 'FULL' to either 'WALK-IN ONLY' or 'PLEASE CALL US'. Go to Settings > Widgets, scroll down to 'Widget settings', and select your preferred text under 'Unavailable timeslot text'.
4. Decide whether you let guests indicate how they identify themselves 🤖
You can decide whether guests have to indicate how they identify, when making a reservation, ordering takeaway, or buying a gift voucher. By default, this will not be asked. So if this is valuable information for your restaurant, you have to change this in your settings.
Add this option via Settings > Setup. Scroll down to 'Features', and switch 'Remove the title/family selection from the widget' off.
🏳️🌈 If you let guests identify themselves in the widget, by default a gender-neutral option will be added too. Guests can then select either male, female, non-binary, a family, or a company when they make a reservation, order takeaway, or buy a gift voucher.
